This isn’t something that usually bothers me. It isn’t even something that I normally notice, but it came to my attention the other day while doing dome laundry.
I had been away for the Labor Day Long Weekend, and I like to pick up t-shirts/hoodies for the places that I have been to. We visited a ghost town and picked up some t-shirts from their gift store. It wasn’t until I was putting them in to the laundry and removing the tags that I noticed the price difference on them. We had got the exact same t-shirt, just different colours and different sizes. Mine was 2 sizes bigger and with a higher price point. Not that it mattered too much but it got me wondering why. Granted more material so you would think more cost, which I don’t believe it should really come down to for many reasons. Having the conversation out loud and it was commented that if that is the case, more material then more cost for the product, then why does underwear / lingerie cost so much? Don’t get me wrong, I am a girl who loves her lingerie and I would almost need a second job if I gave in to my obsession, but why is it that they cost so much? Regardless of the product / garment, they all need to go through the same manufacturing process, design, material, etc, etc,. I’m also not even just talking about higher end brands (even though I swoon over Betty Paige and Dita Von Tease).
Now this probably won’t change my perspective and have me wanting to buy less lingerie because of the price but it has definitely got me thinking about it.
